“Sooo... your name’s NOT Sofie?!”

Nope! My name is Samantha, and I wanted to create something with its own unique identity - even though I’m the woman behind it all. I have always been creative since I was a kid, and you may know me as “the singer”, but I have always had many other creative outlets behind the scenes. This one just feels...different... <3

 

I grew up in Waco, TX, and I moved to Grand Island, NY when I was 19 years old. I have done a lot of soul-searching and “growing up” as I’ve gone through my first official years of adulting (idk who said I was qualified for that, but here we are!) and I’ve discovered a deep love for making candles. I’ve always seen them as a “fancy” or “luxury” thing to have at home because they’re not a “necessity” I suppose, but they really elevate the way my home feels. I have also noticed I relax so much when my space smells nice!

 

I made my 1st candles as Mother’s Day gifts because I LOVE making handmade gifts, and I wanted to make something nice for the special women in my life. I told my friends I was making them, and I was asked to make some for their moms, too! I was blown away by how much they all loved them. I figured I’d just make them for myself after the holiday because I just really enjoy lighting candles, but the idea of sharing my creativity always lights me up!

 

Then I had a literal dream that I was standing in my kitchen (that’s bigger than the apartment kitchen I have now) pouring LOTS of candles, and that’s when Sofie was born. I never have dreams that vivid - much less remember them, so I took it as a sign that this was meant to be! I needed to make more candles!
